People need to get out and travel more to see what kind of fairy tale we live in for those of us that are in highly-developed, computer climate controlled, automatic garage door contained, porcelin throne magic societies.

It's often difficult for me to explain to people who have not traveled outside of the tourist bubbles of developing nations that you do not call the police under any circumstances. Heck, there are countries in Southern Europe where the customs inspectors will teach you how to smuggle contraband in and out of the place, in anticipation of the bribery market that makes their jobs worth working at.

The media droning of America's murderous gun culture has been an effective one. I even saw how futile it was to try to dispel the ideas that foreign visitors have of the US murder rate at SHOT Show, and these were gun enthusiasts with large collections in their places of residence outside the US, many of whom escaped from the Soviet Union.
