Covering up nicks and scratches.

Is there a good way to use cerakote to cover up a nick or scratch on an anodized AR receiver, mount, or a part that has been previously cerakoted?

Why is Cerakote scratching or chipping? From what I know a proper Cerakote job is almost impossible to damage. Did you have it done? I would persue person who did job to fix.

Cory - unless your barrel is made from salt, I presume you mean anodized, rather than iodized.Wink
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

Not really a great way to touch up a baked on spray coating, you could try reducing the cerakote but unless you recoat the entire part chances are it will still show. I just use a sharpie or paint pen until the part has enough mark to warrant a recoat

Yes, all that you need to do on Cerakote is sand the problem area, de-grease, re-coat it, and bake it on again. You can damage Cerakote, but it takes a certain amount of impact or engraving force to accomplish from something very hard.

I've rubbed brass screws across an upper, with the point of the screw to show how hard it is. The brass will rub off, but not tear up the finish, if applied properly.
