6061 uppers?

What wrench did you use to tighten the lock nut on your handguard. I cold not find a spanner wrench that fit it well. Nice looking rifle!

I use the standard DPMS one with 3 nubs that line up in the holes.

Thanks, I like it too and lots of different custom things I do, my ideas never stop so i make prototypes with my ideas. It has turned into a bunch of different AR's that are now custom but are functional.

How much material is left against the receiver face after you mill the barrel nut? Can you take a picture of the nut uninstalled?

The barrel nut doesn't touch the upper receiver. The inside of the barrel nut presses against the barrel extension and sandwiches the barrel extension against the upper receiver. Also I didn't cut any threads, just unused material. You can see the threads on the inside while its on the lathe. If you look at a J.P. Rifles HG, I got the idea from theirs but didn't have the two piece barrel nut installation process with locktite.
