Bolt sticking

Okay guys quick question. I have a Grendel but this question is for my ar-15. So I noticed the bolt was sticking back and couldn't figure out why I cleaned it lubed it really good. I pushed out the rear take down pin about 1/4 of the way and it slammed forward I shot it like this and it cycled perfect pushed the rear take down pin back in and did the same thing? I have never seen this it seems like its binding on something.

You could possibly have a bent extension tube.

Do you have a Rock River Arms 2-stage trigger? We need more details on the rifle. What buffer length, extension tube length, bolt carrier (is it Young's by any chance?), etc. A picture with it broken down into major components would be helpful.

It has a stag trigger that I polished and put the Jp light spingville in and that was awhile ago. The gun shot great until the other day. And it's a cmmg bcg and it's just the normal carbine length spring and and tube.

I don't think it's the tube it's always in a case and I have never dropped it or hit it on something. Another thing that's weird is if the bolt is forward the back pin pushed out really easy if it's stuck back I have to use a ton of force to get it out and once it hits the right spot on the pin it slams forward and dosnt hang out at all.

Take the upper off the lower. Take out the carrier/bolt and put it about where it would sit on top of the lower if it was together. Now push the carrier into the buffer so it goes into the tube as it would if you cycled it. Check to see if it binds in the tube. Work it up and down as you push it in and out. It should not bind or be tight.

Next take the buffer and spring out and do this again.

Check your spring and buffer to see if the buffer binds in the spring as it goes back all the way. The plastic piece on the back of the buffer shoud not be damaged.

Does the carrier have a shrouded firing pin? Does your hammer have the relief cut for the firing pin? The firing pin will hang on the hammer if the hammer isn't relief cut for the firing pin with an non-shrouded carrier. You might have to replace the hammer or carrier.
