YHM 5.56 9/16-24 QD suppressor mount

YHM is discontinuing their 5.56 QD mount in 9/16/24, which most Grendel barrel muzzle threads are. The 7.62 can fits on this mount. Since the bore is made for 5.56, the bore of the mount needs opened up for the 6.5. I had this done for my AK mount, b/c the 5.56 mount is shorter and lighter. It also allowed me to mount it on the thinner barrel.

Is it worth it? Something to consider.

The point is the 5.56 mount is shorter and lighter, which might be worth the hassle for someone building a carbine that is light and short as possible.

If you put the can on it, it really doesn't make a difference (shorter muzzle device doesn't matter, and with the weight of the can, the 1 or 2 oz difference is negligible).

If you plan on running around without the can, I can see where slightly shorter flash hider would might make a difference. The weight savings would be negligible.
