Well lately I've been thinking about buying a .223 and a .50 Beowulf but didn't have enough money to do both. I did some research and found out (which I'm sure all of you know) that the uppers can be exchanged.
Such as - If you have (lets say) a 6.5 Grendel package, you can buy a 5.56 upper and a .50 upper. What ever you need in combating zombies. Say you have a large amount of 5.56 ammo and your doing face to face fighting zombie hordes where there are THOUSANDS of them, you won't run out of ammo. The 5.56 is fine for up close head shot fighting.
At distance or being able to shoot through (lets say) a car window or light armor, that's when you switch to the 6.5 where you may have limited ammo but you know you will make every shot count. Now you won't have ton's of 6.5 ammo, but what you do have... MATTERS! Very accurate at distance and penetration. Perfect for taking out those damn zombies on that road way with intermittent cars, glass and light metal, while staying at a safe distance.
Now you Switch to the .50 Beowulf. Your about to go into a "safe house" (but there are are quite a few zombies in there). What do you do? Well you line them up while outside the window or door and let the 50cals fly through there heads. Perfect at close to medium range and for punching through multiple rotting corpses. Now since you don't have much of the .50 ammo you need to be VERY careful with your shots (and nose). So you take a few shots and hit a few zombies per shot.
Now your going into the house and you don't know how many there are left around the corners.. you change to the 5.56 and load it up with a 30+ round mag. You walk in there and there's 2 zombies in the kitchen and 1 in the bathroom (but you don't know that). You burst through the kitchen door and lob some 13-15 shots into there head (at close range with perfect head shots the 5.56 punches through quickly). The zombie in the bathroom starts charging and you have to swap mags. Fortunately you have many FMJ's in your ammo jacket. Pop a new one in and drop him with a good 10 rounds point blank. Now that's what I call a full out package and most importantly......... OPTIONS!
Selecting ammo carefully and using it in the right way, at the right time and in the right position. How can anyone hate such a package with that many options? Close quarter, Long distance "Snipping" and the tried and tested... BLOW THE SHIT OUT OF EVERYTHING!
Now I want some opinions on what you all think about that. Am I dead on in my thinking or am I just Zombie crazy? Thanks a lot for reading.
