I waited the specified time frame....where is my upper?

I waited for months for my 16" Grendel barrel/bolt combo back in 2009-2010. I got on Midway's instant email notification list, and by the time I logged onto Midway, the 18" barrel/bolt combo I wanted was gone, leaving me with the 16", so I jumped on it.

AA moves thousands of uppers, complete guns, and parts per month, and also has the .50 Beowulf line to feed, as well as the .17 HMR to a lesser degree.

With the Grendel, since it uses a .264" bore, and that bore diameter has become extremely popular over the past 7 years for .260 Remington & 6.5 Creedmoor as well, sourcing barrel blanks is not as easy as pointing a clicking with the mouse. You have to know your market, understand optimal ordering quantities, and order accordingly. Many shops often get told outright that their orders can't be filled at the numbers they request, so they order all they can and hope for the best.

You could order a .264" blank from Brownell's or Midway, send it to AA or another shop that uses Grendel reamers, quality barrel extensions, and has bolts available, which is another matter of machining jobs on top of the barrel availability.

I saw the Overwatch on midwayusa's site, its not what i want...Also saw the 20" Sabre Defense on tenpercent's website...too expensive...I guess i will just wait...who knows, AA may suprise me.

When I was ordering parts for my build I was told in addition to the election year increased sales the issue has been compounded by Remington getting the new contract for m4s and I apparently they have been stock pileing parts in anticipation of order demand by the government which has further strained the market compounding our wait times

There are uppers to be had out there, but ppl seem to only want them is their specific build. There was another thread about this and I asked this question. People seem to rather wait on the exact build upper than to buy something different that's available now, and spend the wait time trying to swap out parts.

Been waiting since mid March for my barrel from AA.....end of every month I email them .." Is it done yet ??".... get same reply. "we don't have material to fill your order, check back next month ".......been waiting almost as long for a bolt carrier from anther source..can't even get them to return a message ..hang tight and shoot your other guns to pass the time..

that is sadly the state that the industry is in.AA and Bill will get you the weapon i can promise that (good people)..with that said somethings are tough to get right now, rock river is only accepting dealer orders,armalite has quit taking orders all together from whit i understand. and even we are finally down to 10 weeks,we were at 16-18

I cancelled my order, ordered the overwatch from MidwayUSA..gonna be at my house on friday, i will go ahead and play with it until i get my 22" pipe with cut rifling built...
