would you mind sharing your experience with the 123 SP Wolf
When I bought some 123gr Wolf off-the-shelf at a local gun store (Get Some Guns), I decided to try it out just for the heck of it. I usually load from a locked bolt, so I inserted the magazine, hit the bolt catch, and had a failure to feed. I cleared the malf, looked over the case, and hand-fed it into the chamber, dropped the bolt, and re-inserted the mag. Everything fed and functioned fine after that, but it fouled the barrel like crazy IIRC.
I would never buy them again, unless I had a bolt gun and just wanted some training ammo for a new shooter. With a melonited barrel, there wouldn't be any fouling either. Thinking back to the old forum, I don't remember anyone having good results with the 123gr Soft Point PPU ammo marketed by Wolf.

Most of the time we used it only because it was the only ammo to be had. It fouled like crazy and used a dirty powder. The lead tips were soft and sometimes caused misfeeds.
It probably was a decent bullet to shoot deer with, and I got 1-2 MOA out of it, but I almost quit shooting my Grendel because it was so flipping hard to clean my rifle after shooting it! Once I started reloading it went much better so far as those things were concerned.

100% ditto. It fouls like crazy for sure. The bullet will expand and work fine on deer, but it isn't worth fooling with something that will copper foul your bore so quickly. 123SP= bad. 120MPT= good. Some people reported that they didn't get the best terminal performance on deer with the MPT (I've never shot a deer with it), but for general purpose plinking ammo it is a great cartridge.
