Thinking about a 16" barrel for a lighter weight build. It looks like I can get such a barrel for about the same price from Faxon and Wilson Combat. Any reason to prefer one or the other?

I’d choose the Wilson Combat barrel over the Faxon if you can afford the higher price. For a hunting rig I’d probably buy a Monster Logo barrel manufactured by Green Mountain to BFT’s specifications. The Monster barrels are Nitride and are really good handling barrels for quick off hand shooting. You can buy the Monster Logo barrels from SixFive Outfitters which is BFT’s online store. SixFive Outfitters show the 16” 6.5 Grendel barrels in stock. With any rack grade barrel it is luck of the draw but I have been satisfied with my three Monster barrels (12”,16”,18”).

Wilson Combat has a good reputation and I rate Faxon or BFT’s GM Monster barrel equally.
