Pig loads for Ranch Manager

Ranch Manager ask me about some recent pig loads that have worked for me recently..

So Here Goes…..first I do not do any non published loads…..I’ve been reloading and hunting a very long time.

The Grendel is my go to pig gun……every bullet I have tried this year has been devastating…..

100% of my shots from an elevated blind overlooking a couple of feeders in a very dense swamp.

All shots between 60 to 100 yards. I see pigs out of this blind every night. The feeder goes off at 0700 & 1900 , 365 days a year.

All loads with CCI 450 primers and Laupa brass..

My most surprising load at least for me has been the 90 grain TNT over 30.7 grains of 8208….
Shot my first two pigs with this load 3 weeks ago. Unbelievably nasty loads. Both pigs shot in the ear, really messed them up. I have watched DNS use 90 TNT for a long time. That is what prompted me to try them.

Another bullet that I’ve used this year is the 129ABLR. Over 25.6 grains of 8208. These are extremely accurate bullets. Again with devastating results.

My night hunting upper is an Oden by the way with a Pulsar on top.

I’ve killed 3 or 4 pigs with 107 SMK’s. SMK’s are my favorite bullet. Over 26.7 grains of Benchmark

All powder dumped with a Harrell’s measure….

All bullets seated with hand dies.

All 4 of my uppers are 20 inch uppers, wish they were 16 inch….
