Good substitute for AR Comp?

Haven't seen any in a while. AR Comp and TAC provide the best groups in my AR. Both fairly rare here lately.

+1 I have used many powders and do not see moving on from TAC

TAC worked well for me in the winter & spring, but once temps hit the mid 90's, a sub MOA load opened up significantly. FWIW.

I believe the best substitute for AR Comp is 8208. 8208 did show up a month ago for a very short time before it was gone.

I'm not going bother. It's only getting hotter. It can sit in the shelf until the Fall.

Well, fair enough, and not calling you out, per se but, for those who don’t have the luxury of other powder choices. Backing off the charge weight when it’s hotter and adding a little when it’s colder, can be an effective alternative. At least in some cases. YMMV.

FWIW this is a quote from an Alliant employee guy.

Reloder 12 was essentially Hercules' answer to canister/OEM 4895. We produced it for years at our commercial plant in
Kenvil, NJ until we closed that facility in 1996. We produced two lots out of Radford, VA, but the production cost there
made the small volume unaffordable. Bofors never produced Reloder 12 for us.
Developed separately, AR-Comp™ is essentially the same burn speed as Reloder 12 and the 4895s.
