Just purchased one of BCA's ar22 dedicated upper, I know there are a lot of BCA hatters on here but I must say this thing is really nice! Build quality is really good and the simplistic blow back design is smooth and trouble free. Accuracy is also good, 50 yard 10 shot groups from the bench with cci mini mags was under 1", it did not like any of the Aguila ammo which is no surprise as not 1 of my semi autos like this stuff. Winchester 333's also printed under 1". For $261 delivered to my door is a great deal!!! The only thing I don't care for is the size of the magazine, it holds 10rnds but it is the same size as an ar15 30rnd 223 mag. Black dog makes 10rnders that are much smaller including steel feed lips unlike the cmmg mag. If you love to shoot and want to feel like a 13 year old boy with his 22 this is just the ticket!!

Glad that it is good for you. Ill never buy from BCA again after my quality and customer service fiasco from them

I bought a 350 Legend upper from BCA. Quality was not their priority. The bolt movement was stiff/very rough and the flash hider was all marred up with tool marks. The entire upper was super dirty. I stripped everything I could off it and disassembled the bolt carrier. The thing had tool chips in every nook and cranny. Never seen a new gun part this dirty, not even my wasr was this dirty new.
Reassembled and lubed it. Took it too the range and bolt smoothed right out. Was forced to start reloading, so did a quick load development and was shooting 1.3"moa at 100 yards. 4 shot group. One was way off, that might have been me. Hope to see if I can improve this once it warms up a little. Plus, now that I have more powder choices and brass.
I contacted BCA on the flash hider tool marks. Since this is a stainless barrel and flash hider and they look so pretty, I wanted a replacement flash hider. The one they sent me had more tool marks on it then the one on the barrel now.
My two cents. There price is good for what they are. Would buy from them again in a pinch.

Definitely a crap shoot with bca which is reflected in the price point, for a drag around shtf upper the price is right. I only have experience with 2 450 bm uppers from bca, both were actually clean and free of defects except some scratches on the bbl. I still have the 18" upper and it actually shoots great, taken many deer with it. The other was a 6.5 grr that was a real pos! Groups were more like patterns. This 22 upper is rather nice, it was clean and free of defects and really does shoot, far beyond my expectations for sure.

That great you got a good 22 upper. I watching for one that is under $200. I want to just keep the upper in my shoot bag. Then pull it out so j have extra shoot time at the range. I dont feel like I get enough done (fun) when I'm only there for 4 or 5 hours. Couple of my buddies and my brother bought the conversation bolt/mag combo. The target looks like you sprayed it with an open choke from 100 yards. That's at 50 yards. I think I'll get an upper.

Been down the cmmg conversion with 3 different 223 uppers and yes spray rounds is definitely the outcome, I do know some work well and are accurate but I think the twist rate in the 223 bbls is the problem. I guess time at the range will tell with this bca upper but I don't see much that can go wrong with it as it's design is actually quite simple.

After a career that involved mostly handguns and shotguns, I decided I wanted to focus on rifle skills. My first purchase was a S&W M&P15-22. Probably the best money I ever spent. Hours and hours and thousands of rounds plinking at the steel between 25 and 100 meters on my club's black powder silhouette range. And the nephew loves it as well.

The problem with the CMMG Conversion is not the barrel twist, but rather the diameter of 22LR bullet as compared to the bore diameter of a .223/5356 barrel. Bullet is a touch smaller and as such it is not is full contact with bore.... bullet gets thrown different directions depending on what portion of the barrel it is making contact with as it exits the muzzle.
A Panic or two ago I bought a dedicated 22LR upper made by Tactical Solutions. More recently, my brother bought a M&P 15-22 with no regrets.

The 22 conversions have fewer fliers and overall more consistent accuracy from 1:9 or 1:12 twist 5.56/223 barrels. Some 5.56/223 barrels can produce decent close range accuracy with their favorite ammo. I still have a Colt and Ciener 22 conversions but have four dedicated 22 LR AR-15s. I enjoy shooting 22 LR at steel plates behind my house whether rifle or handgun. The 22s arent as loud with less down range hazard than centerfire. With rimfire I dont have to police my brass for reloading. I have one CMMG 22 LR set up just like my duty AR-15 I carried as a LEO. I got a lot of beneficial practice with the CMMG 22 LR AR-15 and my Glock Advantage Arms 22 conversions.
I like the CMMG/Atchisson/Ciener pattern of 22 LR conversion bolt as there are several sources for parts and magazines. Ive lost track of the number of people Ive taught to shoot with a 22 LR AR-15 and 22 LR pistol.
