Hey guys, I’ve been reading some of the threads on here for a while looking for some information and I’m hooked some Awesome builds on here had to join.

Some information on me and why I joined

I live in Louisiana and I’m a big rabbit hunter and deer and hog hunter
I’ve hunted deer and hog and run rabbit dogs since I was fourteen

Tracking though swamps and briars with beagles with a 8 lb shotgun started to be work
So I now pack a 5.5 lb 410 i kill just as many With it

Then opening day of deer season I got busted
The wind changed and the blowing started I got down and went to another place to do a little Slippin and spotted a 100 lb hog and dropped it with a Remington in 308 it’s probably around 8.5 pounds with Leupold scope wanting to get something liter to pack around like I did with my shotgun.
I had been looking at the 6.8 spc and 6.5 Grendel to build a bolt or auto on around 5 lb. with a 18” barrel for easy packing though the briars. don’t want to cut up my Remington
I’m going with the 6.5 Grendel Plenty of punch with mild recoil and most shots under 120 yards to build something on. What it going to be I don’t know after seeIng all the builds on here that are super nice and accurate to boot.
Learned one thing all ready the liter you go the more it cost you.

Loggy bayou is amazing if you have the right boats set up to hunt it and can operate as a ninja. Because if you get seen bringing out a good buck, you will have a crowd following you from that point on.

I know from personal experience on that.

I live on toledo bend and hunt kisatchie, dewy wells, thistlwait, red river, peason, red dirt, sabine, sabine island, tensas, clear creek, and the basin.

I got a buddy that Bow hunts loggy and he kills a lot of nice deer. Man that red river has some great deer on it Me and friend seen one Jump up last year at 20 yard while scouting there that had over 20” spread and Most of the tines over 10” He’s still trying to kill him
Went to clear creek a little seen a lot of deer just no big bucks I’m sure there some just a little far for me to scout all the time when I have so many closer dewy, Beauregard,little river,Red River,
