Shot them all side by side yesterday. 21 degrees c. 5-shot strings, Hornady Black.
Cz with barrel cut down to 20 1/4 from 23 5/8. Now 2529 fps( was 2552 full length, 23 fps drop).
Howa 20 Lightweight. 2503 fps.
Ruger American Ranch 16.1. 2386 fps.
Accuracy champ is Howa, easy 1/2 moa. The ruger is proving to be next most accurate, 4 groups at 200 last night first on paper after brief break in. 2 groups just over half moa, 2 groups at moa. This more reflective of my own ability although the Howa always makes me look better. So far the ruger is indicative of 3/4 moa rig.
The cz is not far behind the ruger, Ive had some a little over half moa but most are moa to moa and 1/4. Leading me to feel its more like an moa rig.(with this ammo anyway)
Recoil, the cz is the sharpest. The ruger is the best. However, my Howa deserves honours as its the lighter than both by half a pound and is in the middle of them. Its in a modified mdt Lss with mdt blm stock and talleys. 6 lb 10.5 oz scopes all up. The cz and ruger both a just a little over 7 lbs all up. Talking 7.2-ish ft-lbs recoil here. But like I said the ruger is the softy of the three and the cz is the sharpest, blame velocity diff? Hmmm
I love these three for various reasons. My pet is the ruger currently but cant choose one yet. Theres something about the cz I love thats more intangible to explain. The Howa love is only on its performance, not just on the range but it duplicates it afield, bullets land on the exact poa fur or paper, its maddening really. The ruger has a bit more of both attributes, Im obsessed with its dimensions, weights, magazine ability etc. It has high chances of becoming my personal fav of the three.
Also the howa seems to be speeding up now with some time and rounds as it started life around 2476 fps. Notoriously tight bores. The ruger still very little rounds so maybe it will see my expected 2400 fps? The how and cz have likely 100 rounds each by now, the ruger finished the day at maybe 40 so.
