Hello everyone, new to the forum not so new to the Grendel though. I've been shooting the Grendel for about 8 years now, and followed it's development from way back in the early 2000's when everyone seemed to be speculating 6.5 or 6.8.
At any rate thanks for having me, hopefully I can add meaningfully to the conversation.

My most used rig is what I refer to as my steel gun as I use it really to just bang steel at various distances past 400yds. It's an old Hardened Arms 20" heavy mated to an old DPMS slick side slab upper. Oddly enough this barrel really likes Wolf 100gr. My hunting rig is a 20" Faxon Gunner on some sample upper I got from work(I'm in the gun industry). My group shooter is a Faxon 20" heavy fluted on side charger sample upper I also got at work. I also bought one of the Howa mini-actions early on and really wanted to like it, and the only real issue I have with the gun is the mag catch location, it's just piss poor design in my opinion. One of these days I'll get around to making or buying new bottom metal. I've been asked many times if I have a favorite cartridge and I say hands down the 6.5G!!

I shot in the monthly MR and LR matches at Benning for many, many years.

No, we have a couple of pretty good outdoor ranges outside of Benning. East Alabama Gun club in Phenix city, and Strong Point shooting complex in Waverly Hall. |
