Have a 223 wylde, 243, and 6.5 creed in ar platforms. I purchosed those whole, and now want to try a build. The 6.5 Grendel is pretty intriguing for me to play with. I'd be using it for bravely killing paper at long distance, and also for hunting various size critters. The hunting aspect of my passtimes doesn't include distance shooting, I like to get them within 200 yds before I take a shot. Unless it's prairie dogs, those are a ways out.

Welcome to the forum Swenny! The heart of any AR-15 is a quality barrel then comes a good trigger and optic with mount. I think one of the better buys on triggers is the LaRue MBT who also sell E-Lander mags. Magazines are probably the weakest link in the 6.5 Grendel. I personally havent had much trouble with mags that I couldnt tweak myself. I suggest buying a couple of each brand to see which you like. Currently there are ASC which are also sold as AR Stoner, C Products Defense and E-Lander.
