Vile Rain and EXPENSIVE glass!!!

Ok Horde here is the deal.

Flying to Texas in the morning to hunt for a couple days.
Just my luck the weather forecast is for heavy rain for 3 of the 4 days I am hunting, just Vile Horde luck.
I have a new Thermion XM38 and I just don’t want to get it soaking wet.
Hunting from box blinds, any suggestions on a raincoat for the scope.

My old night rig is a Photon RT, it has been used in the rain many times.

My daytime glass is a Trijicon 1X4 that you can drive nails with.

Should I just find something else to worry about......perhaps sorting primers by weight to lower SD?

Depends on the size of the scope but a one gallon zip lock bag makes for a great scope jacket.

Thanks A5B, gallon ziplock too small, going by grocery store to get 2 gallon bag....it is a perfect solution.

This scope is just the absolute bomb.

I will keep you posted on the hunt.

If hunting in wet conditions is going to be a normal thing. You can do what I did. I had a old pair of 5mm neoprene waders for duck hunting.

I cut a section out of it and made a neoprene scope cover, the neoprene has some stretch so it fits tight but can still be easly pulled off.

Sounds good on the ziplock. imhave used the neoprene scope covers with success (not sure of one to fit that scope. Made similar with pillow case and elastwith a lot of silicon water proofing it did okic, ]

Found some 2.5 gallon zip locks.

Any scope costing more than a couple hundred dollars is waterproof. Keep the lenses dry and don't worry about it. If you're "hunting" from a box blind, it probably won't even get wet.

Until the seal fails and your high dollar scope is no scrap metal.

Always better too have to levels of protection.
