Ruger American Ranch 6.5 Grendel 5 shot magazines?

Just received my RAR 6.5G. I'm wondering if there is a 5-shot magazine available that is shorter than the 10-shot version? For my 6.5G upper I got an E-Lander 5 shot, but it was the same size as the 10-shot with just less magazine capacity. I hope to get less magazine sticking out as that is where I like to carry a smaller rifle. TIA

All the five round AR-15 mags I’ve seen are the same body (length) as the ten round mags. The original C Products & ASC use a bound compressed spring to take up space to limit to four or five rounds. My C Products mag only hold four rounds but I read where CP/ASC counted the chambered round into their stated capacities. My ten round mags hold nine and my fifteen round mags hold fourteen. My E-Landers mags hold the stated capacities ten, seventeen or twenty four rounds.

I ask one time if Ar mags might be shortened like Howas. When I ask I was thinking about the bolt actions.

I don't think the AR lower really allows for a magazine shorter than the standard 10 round design. That is a nice feature of the Mini-14; it's four round mag is a flush fit.

I was wondering if the Ruger bolt actions would take a shorted mag.

You can shorten a regular ten rounder and try it. Sneaky one and myself have shortened 24 rounders to make 12-15 round back in the early days when availability and reliability were issues.

I just pick up a Ruger Ranch in 6.5 Grendel and the scope and rings should arrive this weekend. I?ve been impressed with the cartridge with my AR build and can?t wait to try the cartridge in a bolt gun.

This past December my son harvested a whitetail at around 100 yards with his 12? AR in 6.5 Grendel. One shot and the deer dropped in it?s tracks!

On edit: I?m lucky as my state of Arkansas doesn?t have any magazine restrictions while hunting...
