Monstrum 6-24 x 50 Anyone???

I've been looking at this brand scope for a while now wondering about it. Just wondering if anyone here has tried one and their thoughts on it. I'm in the process of another build and was looking for a scope to top it off.

i almost bought one till i watched some youtube vids on them and they didnt track well. i ended up buying one of theese instead http://adeadvancedoptics.com/ade-advance...ildot-bar/
ive shot 1500+ yards with it , my only complaint with it is the darn hardware for the rings is soft , stripped mine out at 15inch pounds when tq'ing the rings, if ya get one id replace the 12 bolts for the rings right off the bat, the rings themselves have been fine for me though

Don't buy cheaper then Vortex are Athlon. Trust me you will take the fourm later for buying a better scope.

i was lucky enough to be able to try an athlon before i bought , its clear it works great but i had serious issues with the eye relief at higher mags

Yea that's Athlons main problem. Their eye box is into giving at the higher magnifications.

Truth be told I would only own vortex but the vortex line in the 4-20 or 5-25 area leavt me disappointed. Went with a Midas btr gen2 for my CZ grendel because the vortex I wanted didn't have hardly any windage adjustment.

Reason I say don't go cheaper then Vortex are Athlon is because these are the only two scope company's I see putting out mid range and budget priced scopes that will hold up over time and hold zero.

Everything thing cheaper will break.

i took a chance on that ade and i can say it hasnt disapointed me ,
the downsides to it though 35mm rings are espensive af if u wanna change them , clicks on the turrets arent as audible or tactile as id like , so gota be carefull when dialing up for a shot and then dialing back to zero

next time i put it back on one of my rifles ill see if i cant get some pictures threw it with my cell

but tbh i use my atn digital scopes the most , i reserve the ade for really long range stuff

If I am not going to spend over $1000 on a scope,I get a Nikon or Vortex. Both work well for me. Obviously now that nikon doesn’t make scopes anymore I’ll be sticking with Vortex. I don’t like going any lower than the Viper line. I owned a few cheap scopes in the past they end up not lasting very long.

I think I will just wait on a good sale for the Vortex. I actually love Vortex. Trying to save a dime usually bites me in the rear. Always end up frustrated and buying the nice glass in the end.

A5...the vortex 6-24 crossfire ii , is your only gripe about windage adjustment with that model?

No not the crossfire. I typically don't buy lower then their diamondback models. I forget the exact model I was looking at now but it didn't have enough windage adjustment for my liking. So I went with the Midas btr gen2 in the same magnification range.

See if you can find a Nikon black X1000 on a close out deal. I got 2 a while back for just $299 ea.IMO,they compare with Vortex Viper.

Where did you find a deal like that? The 6-24 goes for close to 700 normally

+1, I've got a Nikon Black x1000 4-16x50 that is great all around. Try Scopelist for Nikon closeouts

Cheap, made in China. Neither are reasons to own it. I understand budget, trust me. But, there are times when saving money and waiting are worth more than money. This is one of those times.


Will it work for you? Maybe. Will it work long term? No. And good luck with waranty... remember you should be thinking in terms of years not months with optics.

Yea I decided to go with a vortex. I've had nothing but good from them and Nikon but we know they are done so I'll stick to vortex. My eyes are going downhill for distance so I need good glass and good magnification.
