Retired in Fla. Thanks for the welcome and can hardly wait to read the forum. I was interested in the 6.5grendel from some folks at 308AR. I looked at the performance of the round and wondered if the Army is looking into this round? A very high performing round and I want to build one right after the holidays. Of course I need some more info on best places to buy from if there are any specializing in this round. Recco's gladly accepted.

Alexander arms Grendel hunter. Com Precision firearms Odin Palmetto state armory Jp rifles Just to name a few. It seems you can get a grendel from just about anyone now which is great.

Avoid anything BCA and Grendel II. Don't buy barrels and bolts from anyone who won't give you a straight out answer about the chamber specs. AS PF Grendel group buy barrels and bolts That's the only ones I use now.

Welcome to the clan, RR2, from the great nation of Texas! The key things are the barrel and upper and how they interface. There are already a lot of threads across these pages on that so I won't repeat. But, an average barrel properly mounted will outshoot an outstanding barrel poorly mounted, Pretty much, all the rest is a matter of taste. Enjoy! Welcome to the forum RedRiverII! The year 2020 might be the year of the 6.5 Grendel. Ruger and Cz have both released additional variations to their bolt action 6.5 Grendel. Zastava USA has hinted they might release an AK variant and a bolt action 6.5 Grendel. Prvi Partisan has just released 6.5 Grendel ammunition with a new brass case which uses a small rifle primer. Barnes and Remington are showing two new cartridges in 6.5 Grendel and Nosler 6.5 Grendel ammunition is becoming more available. Hornady supposedly is releasing a 123 grain FMJ 6.5 Grendel in their Frontier line. I expect all these products will become available in 2020.
There are numerous manufacturers selling AR-15?s in 6.5 Grendel. There are pricier models from Noveske, PF, Wilson Combat, Saturn Cut rifled barrels, Rock Creek, Bartlein, Douglas, Lilja, Alexander Arms and Shilen to name a few. Mid tier barrels get good reviews from Odin, Ballistic Advantage, Faxon, Core, J&T/Double Star, CMMG, Palmetto State Armory and Diamondback. The Group Buy barrels manufactured by Green Mountain that are sold through this forum get good reviews as do the Millennium Manufacturing 6.5 Grendel Monster Logo bolts. |
