12” barrel / 15” handguard

Has anyone done this so the can nests under the handguard? I’m trying to determine if I want to do this for the next build?

Absolutely. Google image suppressed ar and you will find a bunch of pictures of suppressors partially under the handguard.

Yes it can be done just keep in mind when you unscrew the suppressor will it leave something behind.

Are you guys finding a need to run an adjustable gas block suppressed with the shorter barrels?

I use adjustable gas block. Some use adjustable gas carriers.

While likely not an important factor to you if you feel the need to submerge your can in the HG, you won't be able to fire it w/o one ever. Why not just source a HG that snugs just up to the back of the can or just barely covers the very back leading edge? Hand guard will likely need to be one of the one's with a more generous inner diameter like the offerings from Aero, Samson, Spikes BAR.

Do it! Here's a pic of my 12" barrel with a 12" hand guard that will become a 15" at some point (with a sandman S). To me the suppressor under the hand guard makes it look way more clean and looks like you've planned out the build. I've never shot it without the suppressor so no need to go shorter hand guard for me. I also prefer to have a dedicated can for each rifle, after finding that trying to swap them around when they are hot at the range is not fun. Also added a picture of my 22lr AR with a 4" barrel and a Thompson machine CHD with a 7" hand guard.

Lastrites, can you explain what you mean here? I must be missing something and I'm trying to learn.

He means that when you take off the suppressor you won't be able to fire the gun. The muzzle needs to exit after the rail so you don't blow up your rail or your hand while holding the rifle.
