Meant to add, this is a terrible way to shorten a spring. Makes it so much stiffer than before. To compress the follower by an inch you have to deflect just two coils a lot. It creates a much higher spring rate overall than having to deflect, say, 12 coils, each of which would have to deflect only 1/12 of an inch or whatever.

Here is a picture of an ASC five round mag spring where the follower was shortened. The lower follower and spring are from a ten round mag, follower unaltered. You can see how the lower portion of the five round spring is bound together. The ASC mags I purchased have been a few years ago so the current production mags could be different.

The C Products mags I purchased in 2012 and C Products was taken over and became the current ASC (Ammunition Storage Components). I do not own any of the currend CPD (C Products Defense) magazines.

Contact ASC and let them know that, I'm sure they would love some customer feedback. Since that's how they come from the factory.

I have 3 of these mags i bought a few years ago .. They have been reliable mags. The extra curve got annoying to look at so i went back to 24 rounders.

My thinking is I don't care how ugly something is if it works properly and fills the need I have I'm rocking it.

I don't care much about looks.

Unless you window it then it doesn't matter who makes it if you cut a window into it for longer loads.
