If you are going to do a Grendel and you are married, get her involved or you may end up in severe arguments. The Grendel is very demanding and uses a lot of your time . As for ammo RELOAD that is what I do.

I already reload and she’s been wanting her own AR anyways lol. It’s the horses we argue about lol

Talking about now pass through and leaving no blood trail. I shot a deer with a 155 gr Berger VLD with muzzle velocity 2600 fps from my 30x47 cal. rifle with a broadside shot through one shoulder and exit was just behind the offside shoulder that left an exit hole that you could drop a baseball into the hole and it would not touch any hide.The deer ran about 60 yards and left NO BLOOD TRAIL. It sloshed on the inside and everything came pouring out the exit hole when I was dragging it to the truck.

Primary Arms and Joebob outdoors has some good sales going on right now for most of the things you will need to build. Yes they do tend to multiply I have two ARs in 6.5 Grendel.

Deer are fun that way. Unless you manage a CNS shot they run. Liquefied organs and they still run. Missing a leg/catastrophic damage, they still run.

My hunting experience it limited to archery, and more often than not, no blood trail. The hunting methods we used back in the day with 20+ persons equaled a good search party to comb the trail the target ran down to find it in a stand of grass or next to a fallen tree w/i 50 yards

The only real drawback to Grendel that I have found is the lack of commercial ammo choices. I do not reload. There are very few commercial and affordable choices. Most of the choices are quite good, however. Then there are some very good boutique loaded ammo that are very good, exceptional, but extremely pricey.

Man reloading opens up so many more options for this round. If I wasn't already set up to reload this round would have probably never gotten my notice.
