I meant to document a little better but today everything arrived and I given I started around 8pm I didn't want to take the time to document the whole process.
The base for the build was my first AR ever that unfortunately ended up being a safe queen, a Colt Defense M4 with magpul furniture.
Basically this

way cool did u true the upper receiver and bed the barrel with blue loctite? let us know either way when u update with the highly anticipated range report
I'm currently sitting somewhere between Thoroughly Impressed and Ecstatic about the Monster 20 barrel from BFT. I got to the range for about an hour and a half today and fought the crowds to throw 40 rounds down range.

This time around I didn't do either, a friend of mine borrowed my Truing tool so I didn't have it on Friday when I built the rifle. And while I do have a ton of blue Loctite kicking around the jury seems to be out on weather or not bedding for sure helps every time. Seems to be a case by case basis. I used a colt upper and while the fit was snug it wasn't press fit tight. I figured I'd break in the barrel without doing either and worst case I can go back and true/loctite everything up.
I have to say though, I shot 30 rounds of hornady black and 10 rounds of Federal Fusion MSR and was thoroughly pleased with group sizes. Unfortunately the crowds made it hard to get down range to retrieve targets but both rounds shot in the 1-1.5 MOA range for 5 shot groups. And this is me not really taking my time and not having a load developed for it.
Over all I'm really excited to see what this build can do with some hand loads and the purchase was more than worth it. If you have any reservations about the group buy barrels, don't hesitate, they're good.
