Shot it while deer hunting Saturday.120 barnes ttsx,50 to 60 yds coming right at me I was slightly angle above him. Bullet enter beside right ear traveled behind right shoulder ran through almost the full lenght of him and exited back part of his guts. DRT did not take another step.

Thanks,Barnes have always performed well for me , I was surprised at the distance it traveled through a tuff ole boar hog.
Next time I'm going to try Ballistic tips and Amax's and compare. I know its not going to have as much penatration but just to see first hand what kind of diffrences.

Those loads were a couple of years old 31grs of BLC2 cci primers wolf brass barnes 120TTSX. Has done very well on the pigs so far, but since talking to barnes about expansion velocity and not having a crono. He said you need 2000fps for good expansion, he told me to go to the 100gr TTSX would be better out of the 16" pipe.
So I'm burning these up before I buy some more.
Bankhead National Forest is eat up with pigs this size all public hunting. There has been some days I see more pigs than squirrels.

I wish Berger would produce a 120gr Hunting VLD in 6.5. I think that would make for a very efficient performing projectile for deer and hog.

Yea thier logic is exactly opposite of what Barnes does, thier bullets shed most all bullet wieght within a animal with out a exit wound. I would test drive em for sure but I know the barnes works without a doubt but they are costly, but you get what you pay for.
