Shtf/home defense spot stalk hunting barrel

Ok gents push me one way or the other.

AA light 16 inch or AA 16 inch incursion barrel.

Out of those two what barrel would you get to fill a light weight shtf/home defense spot and stalk barreled rifle?

Both are in stock at this time, both are the same price, they both use mid length gas and .750 gas blocks.

Need some input quick looking to order today and want to know what the brothers would buy.

I have the aa lite and like everything about it except the thread pitch. My 110g controlled chaos shoot just under an inch. I could not group factory sst at all.

Hoping I like the 16 lite lmao I couldn't wait dropped coin on it, flash hider and gas tube from AA maybe 5 mints after I posted this lmao.

Had gotten a bca hoping it would be good enough quality for a short range iron sight home defense spot and stalk rifle but man is it a price of junk.

Gas port isnt center on the bore, short throat, chamber hangs up and scratches the brass bad, extention is the worst fit to the m4 ramps in my upper I have ever seen and the feed lips in the extention has a big nick in it.

So did what I should have done the first time bought AA to replace the turd bca barrel.

Your main practical differences between the two are:

Incursion is a really lightweight profile and weighing in at 1.52 lbs. More suited to the application you're looking at, but might wander/open when heated.

The fluted Lite barrel is only 1.74 lbs.

The Lite barrels I've used for several builds I helped some friends with ended up being really lightweight guns, lighter than my original 16" SOCOM-ish profile AA barrel, which wasn't bad at all.

You're looking at 3.5 ounces of difference, but the stiffness of the Lite fluted pipe.

If it were me, I would get the Lite.

If you want an ultra-light blaster, use a really light handguard, receivers, or CF tube.

I had ordered the 16 inch lite maybe five mints after posting this.

I was going to wait but when AA told me it was in stock I said here please take my money.

It's already been shipped and tracking shows it landing friday.

Now just to send back this turd bca barrel tommorw when I get to town, I just don't see how BCA is turning a profit on these barrels with the trash they are putting out.

I know "you get what you pay for" but dang you think they could get a lil blaster/beater barrel right.

Short throat
Salts in the chamber treatment holding and scratching brass up badly
Gas port left of center
Feed ramps with big nicks in it and the extention was close to 1/8 inch out of position on my uppers m4 feed ramps.

Like I posted earlier I been a member here long enough to know better then buy dirt cheap and should have just went AA to start.

Yes sir seen that.

Not to worried about it I don't use that ammo and first thing I check is for short throat, if it's short I know AA will handle it like professionals.

I built a 16” for my wife using the AA lite fluted barrel. It is one of my favorite builds. Light weight and accurate to boot. I think you will be pleased with your choice.
