FDE Handguard favs for a 12"?

So, BFT & Faxon were kind enough ship me a 12.5" Gunner Match when other folks bogarted the last of the 12" group buy.

Anyway, the Faxon 12.5" (listed as a 12" @ http://faxonfirearms.com/match-series-12...extension/ ) actually measures 11 3/8" from the front of the receiver to the muzzle shoulder & 11 7/8" to the muzzle. I'm thinking the 12.5 is really a 12", duh... And, there is NO case gouging with this barrel.

Planning on a TBAC Ultra-5 (.30 or 6.5, yet another ? LRRPF52?), but do NOT want a handguard over the can. So, I'm good with a ~1.3" ID slim handguard. Looking for Horde recommendations for an 10"-11" slim in FDE with a brick shit house lockup to a milspec forged upper?

Was going with a FDE BCM KMR 10 (10 3/8" actual), but they just sold out. Many thanks in advance for all your advice!

I have a midwest industries 9" currently and I have been happy with it for the last 5 yrs. If you read through my thread that is on here you'll see a load of companies and handguard options to try as well. A guy on there even posted a pic of a pistol length ALG in desert tan.

Bravo Company's KMR looks good in FDE. I have the 15" but they make it in shorter versions.

I am sure you know barrels are usually measured with the bolt locked in and rod inserted down the bore and measured at the muzzle. I usually subtract at least an inch on the rail as compared to the barrels measured length if I want it close to the barrel shoulder where the threads start for the muzzle device.

Then there is the crap shoot of rail manufactures that list a length but it isn't measured true (or at least true to how I may measure), use to be an issue with MI as they would say a rail was 12" when it actual was 12.25" but they changed that issue up a while back. Let's not start on the 100+ different shades of FDE, nobodies ever seem to match anyone else's ever. I painted a fde stock just so it would match my other parts, at least it has a similar base color when it get's scuffed up from use.
