Great Way to End Range Session

Had to share a great day at the range with my 14 yo daughter yesterday. Pics aren't the greatest, but we were both standing on an old wooden platform on top of muskeg. Anyway, what you're looking at is two impacts on a 2 inch square at 301 yards. Here are the cool parts for me. Got to spend a couple of hours with my youngest daughter. The rifle is one I put together with much help from info on this forum. I decided to try to shoot the 2" target with my last 3 rounds and managed to hit it with #1. Anna, the 14 yo, said she wanted to try and smacked it with round #2. She then missed with #3. But it's pretty cool - in my mind - for both of us to hit consecutively on a target that size at that distance.

That's awesome.

I've put my nephews and our Venturing age Scouts on the Grendel over the years, and they have 1st-round connect on 12" plates at 560yds, 18" plates at 600yds after I give them a brief instruction on the reticle and how to hold into the wind when I give them a wind call.

Either way, it's great to spend time with family or neighbors out doing some shooting, especially when you are able to predictably hit things at distance like this.
