How do these gas guns do in cold weather? Thinking of using the Grendel for a winter caribou hunt, but temps could be down in the 30-40 below range. Any special care needed for extreme cold AR operation?

less lube use or a light weight lube breakfree IIRC works ok, the gas system should be unaffected. Others on here should be able to provide names of others brands. the lighter the better for cold weather.
The AR should pose no problems given the correct amount and type of lube is selected.

Ditto on the proper lube. Another one to try is the Slip 2000. Here's the temp. range from their website:

Extreme Hot and Cold Conditions
Slip 2000 Gun Lubricant has a temperature range of -110 degrees F to a +1250 degrees F so it will not freeze, become sticky or slow down in cold weather and, it will not evaporate in hot weather or burn off during repeat firing. This temperature range will help prevent jamming, freezing and misfires you would encounter with a lesser lubricant.
