CZ 527 6.5 grendel CFE 223 chrony data.

Finally got some loads worked out and grouping great out of my 527 build it's a 6.5 grendel obviously with a 27" Bartlien barrel had it throated to 2.39". So I broke out my chrony on some of my loads hopefully it may help some folks this is just the beginning stages so here's what I got. This is all CFE 223 powder in these results.
31gr 123gr SMK - 2,613 FPS
31.5gr 123gr SMK - 2,675 FPS
Very minimal pressure signs these were loaded at 1.740" oal with a comparator with 1.744" on the lands
30.5gr 130gr VLD - 2,524 FPS
30.8gr 130gr VLD - 2,575 FPS
Zero pressure signs gonna move forward with some hotter loads here oal 1.722" 1.724" is on the lands.
I'm really excited about the VLDs because by the looks of my primers and the feel of my bolt lift this load combo I believe will end up being close to 2,700 FPS and with a BC of .562 I believe these will do great at 1000yrds. I also have had great results with the 123gr Amax but no chrony results yet I'm getting .25" 5 shot groups with them. I'd like to hear from anyone that have taken there grendel to 1000yrds and what bullets work for them and at what velocities there getting. I love this round and this rifle.
Also I'd like to know what velocity is needed for the 130gr VLDs to reach 1000yrds supersonic I'm shooting at about 500-800ft elevation. I'm sure there's an easy way to figure this but I'm not sure how just yet it's something I need to be aware of.

With those velocities you will be super sonic well past 1k at your your elevation. You can run your load through a ballistic program line JBM or Hornady Ballistics calculator and find out. Being able to seat longer and having a 27 inch barrel will increase speed over what most of us get. Nice build

Yeah I plum forgot about the dang ballistic calculator my mind is on the slow side today come to think of it it's on that side everyday. But thanks I got it figured as soon as I got done with typing out the post it finally came to me. Looks like the 130 vld is good to 1200yrds and still supersonic moving at 2,575 it'll do 1000 with ease according to the hornadys calculator. And the 123s will as well. I punched in 2400fps on the 130 vlds just to see and it still makes 1000 supersonic.

Thanks for the comments kmon I appreciate it I'll get these 130s to 2650fps I'm sure of that but quite possibly 2700+ seems to be alot of room pressure wise to play still yet but I'll work up slowly in .3 increments.

What twist rate do you have on that Bartlein?

2500fps mv keeps you supersonic out to 1100yds. I'm using .286 for G7 BC on that. You hit 1 mil of wind at 500yds, 2 mils at 850 for 10mph full value.

That's a nice 1000yd load.

I shoot the 123gr AMAX to 1000 and have shot it to 1200yds as well, factory loads and my CFE223 loads, not pushing the pressure. Boring at 1000yds from carbine barrels, anywhere from 4400-6600 ft elevation.

Good shooting LRRPF52 my Bartlien is a 1:8". I played around with some more loads today here's my results it's CFE 223 again behind the 130gr VLDs.
31gr - 2587 fps
31.2gr - 2609 fps
31.5gr - 2621 fps
At 31.2gr I started to compress lightly I'm not certain how much further I can go safely beyond 31.5 but I'm not even gonna try because the groups started to open at 31.5gr. Actually 31gr gets me the best I do believe it was a bit windy and a whole lot of mirage when I shot today but I did manage to get .42" 5 shot group. And I'm certain with a little adjustment in the seating depth this will move right on in to .25" or better but I'm not expecting perfect groups out of these at 100yrds. I'll stretch them to 300yrds soon and work from there. I think an average of 2587 fps will work just fine at any range out to 1000yrds.

If you think you've found a node based on Extreme Spread, load up 10 of those and see how they do at 300yds. If they hold ~3" for 10rds, call it a day and shoot her out where she wants to fly at 1000, not back in the sticks at 100-600yds.

1/8 twist with a 27" barrel will keep you spun more than plenty out to Extreme Long Range.
