I just ordered the last Liberty barrel for my SBR build. Kim told me that today is the last day they can sell the stuff.
No firesale discounts though. I asked. Apparently whatever doesn't sell at the discounted prices is spoken for.

Im quite sure we havent seen the last of the Saterns
. Im sure there quality of work will still be enjoyed for some time to come. I love my barrel it turned out better than i had hoped it would.

are we sure that satern isn't going to make grendel barrels anymore? I know that they aren't going to sell them directly anymore; maybe they are still going to make grendel barrels but they may only be available through Alexander Arms from now on.

Even though he stopped making "Grendel Barrels", who knows. He may just start selling a barrel with a "SIMILAR" chamber. We can only hope.

There are plenty of high quality barrel-makers out there...Krieger, Obermeyer, Shilen, Lilja, Bartlein, Mike Rock, Douglas, and on. I never heard of Satern until getting into Grendels. I've shot them, and seen the accuracy, which is impressive, I admit. We still have basically relatively unlimited capacity to access high-end, cut-rifled pipes in .264" bore.

The last two Satern bbls I received for others were not exactly shining examples of perfection.
Not picking on them but they were not the usual well inspected high quality bbls we knew Satern for.
One had a dinged up crown and the other had the feed ramp edges buggered up.
I fixed both but you would expect far better from them.

Most or all high-end barrel makers probably offer 6.5 barrels, but not necessarily chambered and ready for installation. That's where the custom builders come into play. For example, Short Action Customs has Krieger 6.5 blanks that can be chambered for 264 LBC.
The beauty in Satern was quality and availability, as they often had chambered 6.5 G barrels ready to ship.
Obvious speculation is that Satern might eventually offer AR-15 tubes in some other 6.5 variant in the not-too-distant future. Time will tell...

Templar makes finished bbls for sure.
Some of the aforementioned will provide unchambered blanks, I do not know if to the general public but certainly to those in the industry.
Just make sure who you buy from has a licensed Grendel reamer and they know how to profile and not fail to check runout to 0.0001"
Also see if they are providing matched bolts with the bbl, this is ensuring better quality, proper headspacing and a good deal on pricing.

It seems like this happens alot. I dont say this to be smart or cute and im not trying to take a shot but Warped has Templar or WCI ever had a customer that wasnt happy with the quality or product you gave them? Its not that i dont respect you or appreciate what you have done in the rifle world for the WCI muzzle break. But it just seems alot of times bash and advertise. You will kind of bash one manufacturer and then promote templar or WCI. It does say in your sig Templar consulting associate and co-developer. Im not saying that Templar nor you dont have good product especially the brake it works. Its just something ive noticed. Why down another and promote yours.
