20" vs 24" barrel - Captk - 11-01-2014
I am building a Grendel and have one of the 24" barrels from Brownells. I live in NY so the threads have to go. I am thinking of cutting the barrel down to 20". I am limited to 200 yd shooting here on Long Island. Any reason I should leave it at the 24" length? 20" vs 24" shouldn't matter at 200 yds putting holes in paper? Any impact to the gas system (rifle) going from 24 to 20?

If you wanted to keep it 24" you could pin weld a thread protector on.

I will have the threads removed and the muzzle recrowned. I'll loose about 1/2" of barrel. Thanks for the feedback.
