long story short i have had a mid weight barrel with 0.750 gas block since may of 2012 i check in with them every once in a while just to see if there is hope
this time was different though kind of disappointing if i take a mid heavy barrel with 0.875 gas block i can have a barrel in 2 weeks if i want it to spec for my order it will be late December early January at best.... so basically never....
I already have a brownells 18", what would you do if you were me....

mongoosesnipe, I am going to sound like a reoccurring echo but I just purchased the core components for my Grendel build from Precision Firearms (Mark) and was truly impressed with the fit, finish and overall quality of what I received. Took 8 weeks for custom Bartlein with the works. John

I am think I am just going to cancel the order it's not as though I need the barrel, the brownell barrel shoots great, and if everything goes as planed I will be living abroad for the next 2 years starting in January so it's not as though I will get to play with it anyway, when I ordered the barrel it was pretty much alexander arms and satern if you wanted a proper chamber with type 2 bolt at this point everyone is chambering barrels since grendel has gone sammi

While I have been very happy with the Satern barrel I have had for a number of years, it will be the only one I own. It seems to me their 6.5 Grendel customers are very low in their list of priorities, if on the list at all.

Why cancel? You don't have any money tied up, at least I didn't. I ordered 3 barrels in 12/12. I got 2 of them last week and the 3rd maybe in December, who knows but I'm not worried. I've already have built one and it turned out very nice.
Anyhow if you really don't need the barrel keep the order and make the decision when you get the call from them.

while i do appreciate that they didn't take a deposit at this point i will be living abroad when the barrel is complete and will not be able to even touch it for 2+ years so why bother...

Here's a thought. They seem to be producing the barrels that have the most demand. They don't require any money, until your barrel is complete.
Place 100 orders for the exact barrel you want over the next week. All from different email accounts.
This isn't exactly ethical and I'm saying it in jest, of course. However, I'm a believer in you get what you ask for, and they've set up a system that is ripe for such an incident. It's like giving politicians a blank check and expecting them to spend our money wisely. Ultimately it's our fault when they run 17 trillion in debt and keep on spending.
