How are people liking their Black Hole Weaponary Barrels - Costa - 07-26-2011
I'm in the process of ordering a 264lbc-ar with an 18 inch barrel through a custom builder. In the past he has used BHW barrels, and stated that they had a great product, but was disappointed with the their lead times, ie saying that they would have a barrel ready in 6 weeks and 10 weeks later no barrel. I have seen a lot talking about BHW up here and I am generally look for one with the 3 polygonal grooving.

Try calling them up. They will let you know what they have in stock so you can decide if you want what they have or if you want to wait for them to do a run on what you are looking for.

I had to wait quite a while as I ordered a 24" HBAR 264LBC. It was worth the wait, tho as it is a very accurate bbl and gets good vels from comparisons to others. I'd do it again. BHW bbls are good stuff.

They have been adding staff and working more shifts. Their production has increased quite a bit lately. They are sending some stuff out for testing with various shooters in the more exotic calibers and they are coming on line hard with their railed uppers.
The reports on their Forum are very positive on the down range performance. I'm waiting on some 20 PPC dies so I can wring out their 20 LBC for them along with Ritch Johnson up in Utah. I think this one will be one hot 20 and that is why I started the thread on it.

The 20 PPC is the 6 PPC necked down. The 20 LBC is a 6.5 Grendel/264 LBC necked to 20. A bit more boiler room from use of the Grendel case. I am hoping for some very god velocities in use with the poly rifling that usually will see an up in the velocity levels by itself as you can pump them up a tad more thanks to less pressure on the bullet/barrel interface.

I live in Moses Lake and have met and talked with Carl a couple times. If he's upping production I'd like to know where it's happening at. There isn't exactly a surplus of experienced gun machinists in the area. Unless, he's having them outsourced or he's accepting the potential of producing a slightly inferior barrel just to keep up with orders.
