Thought i would ask, Do you think it is necessary to use the locktite on the outside of the barrel nut where the handguard mounts? Any benefits using it. Seems just tighting the screws would be good.

Yes it is necessary, use green locktite on the out side of the MI barrel nut to hold the hand guard. The hand guard will work its way forward without the green locktite. If you tighten the screws too much it will break the hand guard nubs off. Follow the instructions and you wont have any problems.
