I know they were designed as varmint/predator bullets but have any of you used them on deer or hogs? If so how did the bullet perform? Thanks for any first hand experience and comments. TTT

I have been thinking about this myself. I really want to load some of these for hunting but I too would like to hear from someone who has already done it. I neck shoot most of the time so it should not be a problem so I may do it anyway, but any insight would be nice!

Yep, I will never use a bullet that light for deer, it is not very effective/humane.
I don't want to torture it, I just want to give it a decent, quick death, we owe them that much.
Like a friend said years ago to some jackass, "Hey why is it that you always have to torture your meat?" I guess it had dual meaning...hehehe

I definatly agree they are much to light for typical body shooting. If I shoot a deer or hog with these it will be head/ neck only. I shoot alot of doe's and it only takes a couple of inches of penetration to make soup out of the spinal column, causing a VERY quick and humane kill. I have seen plenty of deer killed via neck shot with a 50 grain v-max through a 22-250 so I really dont see why a varmit bullet through the grendel wouldnt suffice. I say again, I would NEVER use this for body shooting, nor would I ever recomend it.

Neck shots are not too common unless the deer is nearly standing still, or slowly moving.
At 35-40mph that is a REALLY challenging shot

I dont think hogs even have a neck. Head yes, throat yes, cervical spine yes, but not even enough neck to turn round and bite you when you grab their hind legs. I aim if @ all posible at center of mass in chest to give myself a little lee way to make a humane kill . A humane kill show respect for the animal.

I typically shoot 2-3 does per year 90% neck shots, one thing I love about hunting in Texas is that you can get one to feel comfortable under a corn feeder or ou on a baited trail. Make a whistle so she looks at you after your cross hairs are on her and you have a perfectly still white patch for several seconds
hogs- it's not really a neck but about 2 inches behind the ear, is where I aim and have only ever had bang-flop results
