Got a 100 grain load the will shoot out of my newly built upper using one of Brownells barrels. The load is 29.8 grains of TAC OAL is 2.245

It is the 18 Brownells barrel and I didn't have time to chrono them. Will try to do it Monday when I'm off.

That looks good. I have a couple of boxes of them that I haven't gotten to yet and some TAC, I think I'll give these a run as well.

Wonder how much faster they are compared to the 123 Amax.
Good group.
Hard to get much better than that.
Hornady said they'll be making more this spring.

Volume II of the 6.5 Grendel Handbooks shows loads with the 100gr A-MAX ranging from 2698-3000fps. All from 24" barrels, on pages 81-82. Powders used were:

Alliant 2000 MR
Alliant RL15
Hodgdon Benchmark
IMR 8208 XBR
Vihtavuori N530

Bwild97 did some work with CFE on them, but said velocities were all over the place, which was my experience as well with 107gr SMK.

BC is .390 on the 100gr A-MAX.

I only have about 100 bullets left. I tried them out on some jack rabbits and it was total destruction. I can't find any 100 grain amax with any of my dealers. Hope they start making some soon.

I have tried these loads in my 24" lother barrel. Re-15 is my favorite powder but I thought it was too slow for this light of a bullet. I use 29.0 grs with the 123 amax so go up for the 100 amax. 28.0 grs of ar-comp would be similar to the re-15 load as it is just reformulated re-15 but slightly faster. N530 was the best for me with the 100 amax.

I had a chance to try this load today. Started off a bit rocky but found an issue with scope ring torque. Tightened them to spec and things got WAY better. I think that this load is a keeper and it shoots soft as well.

I had been shooting some 123gr AMAX loads and was getting erratic groups, thought it was me just having one of those days. Shot the first group on the bottom and knew that something was up. Did a complete system check including checking torque on the scope rings and mount; that is where the problem was. Shot the first round on the top group, made a .2 mil adjustment and shot the next four. I'll do some more groups but I think that it is a winner. I'll chrono later today.

Range is 100 yards.
