I put together this short ( 1 minute) video of the T/C Encore I built for my daughter-in-law to use on her first elk hunt. It has a Match Grade Machine 26" 1:8" carbon steel barrel. I modified it by installing Mike Belm 1X oversized hinge pin and all springs. This gives it a much more decisive and consistent lock up. The load that I'm shooting in the video is the Hornady 123 grain SST and 28.0 grains of IMR8208XBR.

Its an MGM Match Grade Machine. They did the chamber work and welded the lug and cut the extractor, it is a Shilen barrel blank.

Cool video sir. That barrel appears to be very stiff. What does the 123gr SST clock with that load from a 26"? I'm guessing somewhere in the 2600fps+ range?

I think you are probably correct, but unfortunately my buckle on the Magnetospeed broke, and I didn't have one of my other chronographs with me. I've got a complete load matrix ready to go as soon as I can get back to the range. I'll report back the data once I have it in hand.

I should also note that I inspected the throat on this MGM barrel with my Hawkeye bore scope and they did one of the very best chamber jobs I've seen. The leads were perfectly even throughout the entire bore diameter. There was some chatter along the lands, but that is Shilen's problem, not MGM's.

RJ- nice rifle, glad that you care so much of your DIL- That's true connectivity as a family as a unit.
2 questions= How much for the smith work on the bbl to adapt to the Encore? Stainless, or not? I want one for me jr.
