Does it work in extreme temperatures? Salt Lake just wasted $90k on electronic parking meters that don't work in the heat.
I'm guessing these dipsticks will require LEO's to carry "smart guns" first, so we'll get some real-world abortion clinic experience from the brainiacs.

I've gotten a lot of calls from local news paper reporters and local television news reporters wanting me to make comments on the smart gun technologies. I simply say, I don't think it is a technology worth risking the lives of our police over. That usually stops the conversation then and there. The expectation seems to be that I'll say, yea, it's great, they are very disappointed when I don't, and move on.
The reason they call me, is that I'm the president of our state association, the NRA state affiliate and my name and contact information is readily available through the internet. Not because I have any inside information.

Smart gun technology is a plethora of lawsuits waiting to happen.
"Officer Jones, how did you find the victims when you arrived at the scene?"
"The husband was lying dead with some shell casings near his body, but the wife had the gun in her right hand. She had not been able to use it, and had a gunshot wound to her face. Their drawers were ransacked, and it appeared that their valuables had been removed from the premises."

Just like vaccine manufacturers are indemnified against damages even for gross mistakes, be sure that 'smart gun' manufacturers will similarly be indemnified. The agenda and indemnity will, of course, be sold to the public couched in terms of a compelling corporate... er... state interest.
