12" Grendel SBR - Dflores22 - 06-29-2013
Hehehehe :p. I just got the 12" Grendel SBR together after getting it back from getting cerakoted Tungsten Grey. I can't wait to get out and shoot it. I' am going to be using it as my primary hunting rifle for hogs and deer from here on out. I think the barrel will provide plenty of velocity and range within 150 yards or so, more than needed with a healthy bullet choice. Contemplating scope and mount choices, thinking of keeping it in a 1-4x, 1-6x range, any ideas...

Yeah, this is its bigger sister. My side charging 16" Grendel. I think I am going take the of optic off this rifle (Vortex Pst 1-4) and put it on the SBR. I will probably replace it with the newer Vortex Pst 2.5-10x32.

Ha, thanks. The SBR shoots like a dream, still gotta get the adjustable gas block dialed in and a Spikes t-2 buffer in her and see if I can fine tune her some more. I think I might be in trouble, my wolf mpt stash might be gone this weekend if I don't show proper restraint. lol

Wow..........a Grendel SBR! I have 2 5.56mm SBR's I use a can with just to control the noise, but I really cant imagine how much flash-bang-noise you get out of that or velocity? Have you run into any cycling reliability issues with the gas system? What kind of spring and buffer are you running?
Sorry for the questions.......I was just curious as I plan to build a 300 Black Out SBR soon.

Sorry guys, I am in the oil industry here in Texas and boy its humming. Work has been hectic and crazy, so haven't had much time to go shooting. Next weekend I am gonna take her out and get everything tuned. I have a couple different weight buffers, that I am gonna try and fine tune with the adjustable has block I got for her. I took her out a couple of weeks ago to shoot and was having an issue with extraction, but I think it was my bolt. It was one I couldn't get to cycle right in my other Grendel, since then I have a new one for my side charging Grendel from AA that works perfect. I am gonna take that one and use it on the SBR and see what she does.
Cory, its a PWS enhanced buffer tube. It has a built in section with swivel cups in it and flutes.
Rickoshay, I am still flirting with what bullets I am going dedicate to her and am in the process of getting some together to test in her.
Details: AA 16" barrel, cut to 12" and gas port redone to carbine length and 5/8-24 threads.
