Hit the newly planted peanut fields last night. There went a box of ammo. Factory Hornady 123 SST.

I am having problems downloading my pics to the forum. At one time I could download the pic to my photobucket account and then copy the ULR's. That's not possible now. Any help would be appreciated. Remember this needs to be done from my iphone. Thanks.

In your imageshack file, next to the picture, are multiple icons. The top one lets you choose a forum friendly format. Copy that and paste it and the images should show here. If not, let me know!

Good question�� on the first hog I shot there was about 10 pigs in front of me but the wind was all wrong. If I wanted to walk a half mile then I'm sure I would have been more successful. I had a cross wind as I entered the field from woods but when I got away from the wood line the wind was to my back. These 10 pigs were spread out 100yds wide and winded me big time before I was set-up. I shot the biggest target as they were haulin ass to my left. The rest went into the talk grass. More for next week. I call that hunt security.
The 2 yotes were called in on the same set but only one was shot dead. Then another one appeared in the same path 5 min later. I missed my first shot on him and off he ran full blast. I got lucky and downed him in stride at about 150 yds.
The other 2 pigs were at a new spot that I have never been to before. Pulled up there around 4am and my truck was right by the field (50yds) where they were rooten. I spotted 5 pigs in that field and 3 got away. That field has grass around 3 ft high. Now you see me, now you don't type of hunt. Anyway I had fun and got to brake in my new 16" fluted bull barrel from McGowen.

Ah....might have to use a Windows machine. This software is not completly compatible with IOS, unfortunately.

How well does that bipod work out for for you when hunting? I don't use one on hogs; I am afraid it would slow down follow up shots.

I have that bipod in there for when I am standing on the back seat of my golf cart. I pretty much use it as a rest for on top of the cart roof. My buddy drives and I spot. I can see really good standing on that seat. I also use trigger sticks and the bipod doesn't effect anything there. Every once in awhile I will be standing on the seat while the call is sounding off. Again
I can see and its nice to have a solid rest.

Have you noticed any difference in performance between the 123gr A-MAX and 123gr SST? You've shot enough game I think to have a reasonable sample so far of both.

As far as the (123 SST & A-Max) rounds, they both shoot very accurate when I zero. At this point I would say that the A-Max seems to stop and drop the animals better than the SST. I have recently switched to the SST maybe 80 rounds or so ago. I have been happy with A-Max but they became hard to find. I now have 3 cases of SST and do like how they shoot, but it seems that I have to follow up on my first shot in order to make sure they stay down and die. I have no proof that the SST is less deadly than the A-Max but I have taken note on how I have to do a follow-up shot.

Did the change in doing 2 shots happen to happen with using the shorter barrel as well?

Yes..on the shorter barrel. But I'm not writing this off as the SST being inferior to the Amax, i need more time. You think the 16" barrel versa the 20" barrel plays a role in my assumption?
