I shot my 5.56mm carbine so much it was stinking filthy and I had used this lube before it was fired, I preheated the BCG in the toaster oven to 200 degrees after really coating in well.
My friend was with me (class III guy) and we shot the living crap out of it, supressed as fast as we could.
The clean up two weeks later only took 10 min and the tail of the bolt nearly wiped clean with a rag.
There was so much gunk it was stupid and yet it all wiped off.
This stuff does not run off when hot either.
It can be safely used in bbls, get the bbl cleanand then use some bore paste to get it perfect.
Then use a patch with a bore brush and run it through, then use a dry patch and do the same so you don't get too much in the bbl, just a slight film.

I will call Chris (Variable) and let him know, he really has to check this stuff out, Gene and you guys that really shoot a lot this stuff is AWESOME!.
The bolt tail was just barely crusted with carbon.
I polish the tails of my AR bolts on the buffing wheel and then coat them.
It makes for a really easy clean up too.

This puts me to mind of a product called MolyFusion, which is not a MoS2 based product. It also is a "green" product and was phenomenal on regular steel parts. You can buy it in concentrated paste or cut with mineral oil for everyday use. It is also heat activated and bonds with the steel, more-so with every use. The hitch was, it didn't react with stainless steel or aluminum. A lot of firearms like our black rifles have aluminum sub-assemblies and stainless steel barrels and parts. I realize you're not a rep for them, but I wonder if Froglube is a similar product? If it reacts with all metals equally well, I'd buy some to try. As an Engineer, I'm always on the lookout for new lubricants. Also, I don't know about Froglube, but MolyFusion comes with a warning of not to allow it to come in contact with the chamber as it makes it too slippery and compromises the ability of the brass case to hold onto the chamber until pressure subsides.

They are using it for bbls, so I think there is not a way to keep it off the chamber walls. This stuff has quite a bit of testing and current use.
No warning about aluminum as it is meant for M4's and all other small arms.

By react, I meant work with. I wasn't worried about it harming aluminum and stainless, I was curious if it bonded to them as well as regular steel? That would be a good thing. I suppose we should throw chrome in there as well since a lot of folks are opting for chrome plated parts and there are certainly plenty of chrome lined barrels out there. The root of the question would be does it bond with metals as a result of chemical reaction, or does it just penetrate as far as the porosity of the metal allows? I emailed their contact address asking these questions and will report back what their response is.

It works with all 3 of the metals plus many other alloys as well as other non metal substances. I've seen it work well on chrome & chrome plated steel. (actually used it to remove rust from an old Harley) Let me do some research on the Titanium Nitride question & get back with you. On the chemistry, it does both. The cleaning and protectant properties you'll observe demonstrate bonding in that Froglube displaces & lifts the carbon and then attaches itself in it's place and down into the deep pores. It also "emulsifies" the detached carbon & suspends it- especially noticeable when heated. When the metal cools, the fouling sits on the surface and is easily wiped away. Any excess left on the surface can be either wiped off to leave a smooth, dry surface ( nice for cold wx shooting or dry dust conditions) or left on during storage to continue the breakdown & dissolving of carbon. It will not harm plastic, rubber or non metal surfaces. After a couple of weeks, most of the carbon fouling will be dissolved. This really reduces cleaning effort & gives great rust protection. WRT the barrel's chamber. We slap this stuff all over everything, with no regard for careful application. I've never had a jam or feed issue, so my opinion is get it everywhere you don't want corrosion. When it gets hot, it's going to go where it wants. You'll see it perform even better after you get the weapon up to operating temp.

I have been shooting "food grade" all natural lubricants in my muzzleloders for years. Also used them in AKs, but everything works in AKs. They are some kind of wax I think. "Seasoning a barrel" is also an old black powder tearm. They have worked well for me. I'll try some of this stuff. I hope it dosn'nt smell rancid after a while like the stuff I have now. I'll ask an Old guy named Joe what he thinks. Thanks for the report

After reading about your results with Frog Lube I checked out their website. In the were to buy was my local gunshop Van Raymond Outfitters. So I went in today to procure a bottle. They told me it just came in todayand I bought the CLP. I took my Grendel apart wiped it down and lubed it up per the directions on the site.It amazed me how much carbon came off my clean weapon. For many years I have used Crouses masking scent gun oil for hunting. I believe that I won't need to do that with this product. Thanks for the tip.

Great stuff for non-stainless steels. I treated countless 1911's with it a few years back. Made them run like silk. No effect other than the mineral oil it is using as a carrier when used with stainless or aluminum.

I'm good with Froglube in guns with looser fit tolerances, AR's a case in point, but tried some on a very close fit Les Baer 1911 during an IDPA shoot and had a couple of FTF's when not fully warmed up. So back to either Slip2000 or Machine Gun Lube, both of which are very slippery. That said, FL has a place in my tool box/range bag and has many excellent qualities.
