Picture this: one million gun owners, peacefully marching in Washington DC, each waving a "high cap" magazine... (IF David Gregory can get away with it, we should be able to get away with it too.. right? Sauce for the goose.... ).

I'd suggest a million gun owners-- each with one loaded 30 round magazine, and the understanding they'll be inserted in ARs the next time, if DC doesn't knock it off and respect our rights....

I dont know Variable, if we show up with loaded mags and no rifle they'd lock us all up or kill us all at one time. Is that an extreme view or realistic, im not sure anymore. I wont go to d.c. period unless im going for a reason that im not going to put on the net. Lets just hope that cooler heads prevail, but im having doubts about our current situation.

There is precedent now, set by the DA "Nathan noted that his office’s decision in this case was also influenced by “our recognition that the intent of the temporary possession and short display of the magazine was to promote the First Amendment purpose of informing an ongoing public debate about firearms policy in the United States.” Keep them empty, or not, and you have an open door.

Huddling in our corners and howling at the moon will avail us nothing, and affords them the opportunity to ratchet away another increment of our constitutionl rights. Violent confrontation is also a losing proposition if it can be at all avoided as well.
This hasn't reached the level of Lexington and Concord yet, and I'd certainly be willing to use up some shoe leather to try fixing our republic peacefully.

Great idea and I would support, but here is the problem - most gun owners I know are responsible citizens, hence, they have a job. They have responsibilities to their families, employers, employees, etc. Responsibilities they would not/can not shirk, because they are responsible.
Let’s look at the other ‘marches’ and compare the employment/level of responsibility…not saying there were not members of those marches who were responsible citizens, but I would bet dollars to donuts that it was not near as proportional as our community.

Variable, i also believe in avoiding one, but the Liberals cant be so sure that a violent confrontation is such a losing proposition for us.... otherwise they would not fear our guns so much.
Secondly, i doubt seriously that DC law enforcement or even the Feds would dare to open fire on many thousands of law abiding americans.... many their own family members.
nope. it cant happen. if it did, if would be a civil war. it may come to that, but i dont think they have the balls.

Has everyone seen the posting of the 2nd Amendment Rally at the State Capitols Feb. 8th? There was a link to the facebook group in the posting. A peaceful demonstration at the state capitols may not be as effective as one million gun owners marching on washington, but I believe it can send a powerful message. While I'm more than willing to travel to DC for a march on washington, I believe the Feb. 8th rally will be our last chance to resolve this peacefully. I hope to God I'm wrong, but I fear I'm not.

Somebody with clout and the public's ear would have to call for it (cough... NRA... cough...), but if we can't get people to show up for one day then we are truly lost anyway. It's that fundamental, and that deadly serious.
People chant "from their cold dead hands", but if their live feet couldn't show up to survive a peaceful day of protest because of losing a couple days of work, then their live hands certainly lack the resolve to do anything more than whine and complain while typing on the internet.
Think about this: "I'm willing to die for it, but I couldn't miss a couple days of work to avoid it"...
Please don't anyone reading this take it wrong, I'm not disparaging anyone. I AM saying this--- I'd rather lose a little money and stop this peacefully while there is a chance, than lose my life and possibly my families life as well because of inconvenience (?!?!?!?!?!). Watching the greatest country on earth spiral off into a civil war, that could take our lives, would be far more inconvenient than showing up to a protest! I guess it could be seen as a national "gut-check".
