I'd still have to say that im a fairly new individual to the Grendel world but after seeing some facts of its range capabilites and with these hunter's testimonials, I have to say that im hooked on the 6.5 Grendel. For those still interested heres 3 of my favorite stories.
1. 465 yard shot with 123gr. A-max ammo on a very nice 4x4 deer.

Mark LaRue's story was way cool. I got the Christmas card from him that year showing him in the Navion with the Elk in the back seat. That was probably the best Christmas card I ever got.
I still don't know why LaRue isn't making a PredatAR Grendel line yet. They would sell like crack.
There are a ton of great hunting stories with amazing camera work here in the hunting threads, including pigs, deer, yotes, elk, Oryx, mule deer, antelope, and who knows what else. Many of the shots have been at distances from 300-400+ yds.

I emailed them not long ago asking if they planned on adding Grendel to their line-up...their response was short and to the point: "we have no plans to add Grendel to our line-up"

The problem ain't the economy, its getting parts. When you are already selling everything you can build, adding something else makes no real sense, especially when it takes the same parts as something you are already building.
BUT....Mark has said in the past he intends to add a Grendel line eventually, my suspicion is that there isn't a real reason to do so until the orders for his other lines slow down.

It would have been cool to do his own AR with his own bolt in the Grendel. LaRue has added at least 6 different lines of production rifles since that hunt in 2008, and demand is pretty high for them. There is plenty of demand for Grendels, as we have been seeing for a long time now.

I asked them the same thing last December and got the same response ... too bad. I suggested they test the Grendel waters by merely offering the Grendel as an option in their existing 'Stealth Sniper' line of upper groups (the new parts would be only barrels and bolts). No dice, yet. I hope they'll get around to it.

I think LaRue uses LW barrels. LW chambers for a 6.5 variant. Might be some agreements / contracts in place that prohibit a Grendel-chambered LaRue. Or not. Just speculating...

It would be nice to see more options out there. But on the flip side, I like how the Grendel is sort of exotic!

Yes, sometimes widespread adoption of something is a curse, not a blessing, like with the 6.8 SPC SAAMI specs being all jacked up with an 80 degree throat angle, and big manufacturers using that chamber drawing to crank out untold numbers of rifles with an unsafe chamber.

You are correct about Larue using LW barrels and I was thinking the same thing about possible contract issues. Dunno. LW is making me a "6.5 CSS" barrel with a .300" neck and I am, in effect, building my own Stealth "Grendel" upper.
