Washington State 'Assault Weapon Ban' - LR1955 - 03-09-2023
Guys:
Last night, the Washington State House voted to ban the sale of anything the leftists define as an 'assault rifle'.
Goes to Senate and there is no way it will fail. Democrats hold a 29 to 20 majority in the Washington Senate.
I can't find their definition of an 'assault rifle', probably because it doesn't exist or is so vague they can term anything an assault rifle.
Of course the second it is signed into law, dozens of law suits will be filed and the bill will be stopped until the courts decide. Then there will be another series of 'compromises' which will be accepted by the Democrats because each compromise will favor their goal of a total ban on the possession of firearms of any sort by the law abiding citizen.
Bottom line is this. If you who still live in free states vote for a Democrat, you are suicidal.
There are consequences for losing elections.

Sorry to here about the communist take over, but you are absolutely correct..
Dems and rinos are a cancer on our freedom and liberties..
I see eastern Oregon is trying to become a part of Idaho over this same type of communist takeover. It is the greater Idaho movement..
The leftist cities are running the entire states which are more conservative..This is why we have the electoral college and not a popular vote..The founders were very astute about government power and human nature..
Too bad most schools misrepresent or don't even teach true American history anymore..They have become leftist propaganda organizations with mentally challenged individuals teaching kids the most insane nonsense..This insanity is even in Montana, which is why it is important to fight on the local-state level and not just the national..
Give it a few more years and watch what happens if the dems put more lunatics on the Supreme Court..Love or hate Trump, but the only reason we have gun rights today is because of his Supreme court picks..

(30) "Semiautomatic assault rifle" means any rifle which utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and chamber the next round, and which requires a separate pull of the trigger to fire each cartridge.
"Semiautomatic assault rifle" does not include antique firearms, any firearm that has been made permanently inoperable, or any firearm that is manually operated by bolt, pump, lever, or slide action.
Sadly, the Ruger 10/22 is an assault rifle in Washington

Sorry for you guys in Washington state. I've been following this and nationwide gun control measures at the excellent Youtube channel Washington Gun Law. These are desperate, last-ditch measures in the era of the Bruen decision. Ultimately, the bans in Oregon, Washington, NY, NJ, MI and other states will fall, but that is year and tens of millions of dollars down the road. Permit-to-purchase schemes are a little thorny.

More than just thorny. You dont need a permit to worship except for in China, but not here. You dont need a permit to speak (yet), dont need a permit to be free from unreasonable search and seizure, dont need a permit to be innocent until proven guilty. One of the most important and yet obvious comments from justice Thomas is that the 2A is not a second class right even though the left tries to treat it so.
remember Soviet Union had a bill of rights in its constitution, but they were all subservient to the State. So not rights after all.

Chatted with my dealer rep at Aero Precision today and she said their lawsuits are ready to be filed the second the bill is signed.
Justice has never been a guaranteed outcome in the human condition, and much less so lately in the U.S., so it'll be telling to see what happens in court.

Not thorny, rather unconstitutional.
Permits can be denied, they mean you need govt permission to exercise what is a constitutional right.
[By the way this IS the definition of a "right" in Dimmocrat lingo -- mark it well.
Dimms believe the government gives you permissions, you actually have no rights.]
You don't need a permit to speak.
You don't need a permit to go to church.
You don't need a permit before you can ask for a trial by jury.
You do need a permit to drive but driving is not a constitutional right.
