Are pins worth the hassle?

dawn ultra + lemishine
wrenches? nah. you might want a piece of plastic to help agitate. the brass holder insert from a lapua box is what i use.

Just get the 2 pack of dawn ultra, a 2 pack of lemishine and you are good for like 300+ cycles.
The reason I say chips and not pins is chips don't get stuck in flash holes, and cleaning takes only 25 min. I don't even measure the stuff, just a pinch of lemishine (less than 1/2 teaspoon) and just eyeball the dawn like you were doing some dishes. Cheap, ultra effective. Ensure you rinse well.
One thing you didn't mention was a media separator. I use a 5 gallon bucket and the cheap-o Franklin armory sifter thing after straining and rinsing (swap the top with the strainer accessory... worth it to keep the chips and brass in the tumbler while rinsing all the stuff the first time, then dump in separator, separate, and rinse it again unless you like ammo that smells like soap)

Magnets sounds like a pita compared to gravity. It's as easy as taking another 5 gallon bucket and drilling a bunch of holes in the bottom then shaking. Only time I use magnets is to pick up the few strays you get when removing the lid from the fart jar.

Reminds me of a thru-flow chamber reaming system where the gunsmith used gravity for the larger chips, but also had a magnet to pick up the smaller bits that remained in suspension.
Found this video of something similar where this guy also uses a magnet to remove the swarf.

I use SS pins and Dawn dish liquid and nothing else! I also have the FA tumbler that you use after the cleaning process to remove extra water and pins, this combo works very well, I do not have any issues with pins being stuck in the flash holes and my brass comes out 99% clean, I have the larger tumbler from FA, my first barrel leaked out of both ends, they replaced it free of charge, my second barrel leaks now out of 1 end for a short time then it stops! I also upgraded the rubber seals, but all in all I'm happy with this unit, I place it my bathtub and no worries!

I have the double ended large one also. Always leaked, then got the 3-D printed wrench!
The bathtub idea is thinking out of the box! Nice. I add pinch of citric acid, sounds strong but its not. Its the active ingredient in Lemi-Shine and many cheap candies that taste tart! Completely food safe! I buy in bulk off Amazon, for pennies, use it to back flush and maintain my Espresso machine boilers! Plural as in multiple machines!
In the winter I oven dry @ 200 for 30 minutes! Jerry Miculek does something similar. Good enough for Jerry, good enough for me! Summertime, I spread them out on beach towel in the backyard.

I have the large Wet FART. I use the stainless pins that came with it. A little Dawn soap and Lemishine. When done replace one cap with the strainer cap that came with it. It leaks if not tight. Printed a wrench for my old hands to tighten the just a smudge more. I get 1 or 2 pins stuck in the 6.5mm cases. They pop out easy. No primer hole issues. Rinse in tumbler thru strainer cap. Then dump on towel to dry. Use magnet to retrieve any remaining pins once dry. 95% of the pins fall out into the bucket when rinsing.

Johnnys Reloading Bench did a video cleaning brass using Brass Juice, Lemishine and dish soap, and the Frankford Arsenal cleaner. I don't think he used any stainless media during the tests but I may be wrong there. I use a sonic so I don't have any direct hands on with the water tumblers.
