I have been in the Grendel game a couple years now and do reload my own ammo. Or course its a right handed gun I built. I am careful and do not load over max charges or velocity for fear of breaking something. I normally dont wear safety glases either while load development or target shooting. If I broke an extractor or sheered off a bolt lug could it be dangerous to me because Im on the right side of the gun ? I have seen numerous people on here break extractors and seen bolts crack. Just something that runs through my mind from time to time. Thanks

If the gun were to catastrophically fail then perhaps more debris might come out the ejection port than the other side. More spit comes out the ejection port when shooting suppressed. That suggests chamber over-pressure will take the path of least resistance into the face.
If however you are loading safely then the chances of catastrophic failure is remote. Chipped bolt lugs will happen when the bolt is in battery so it's not coming out until the pressure drops. Plenty of situations where you might need PPE to operate, but not always in long gun shooting.
