..and it seems to have the sidewall bulge issue. It'll drop free if unloaded; maybe with no more than two rounds. If loaded (I put in 20), it's tough to strip the first. Subsequent rounds seem a little easier, but if you remove/replace it, they are again hard to strip.
It's been discussed several times about problems/underloading, but what I'd like to know is which capacity magazines are the least-troublesome. And if it's the 10-rounders, wouldn't I be as well off to get Magpul 20s and underload, as I've seen mentioned? Thanks in advance.

Opus Dei: What brand of magazine did you get and where did you get it from?
Does the magazine have the blue follower and say 6.5 on it?

It has the blue "6.5" follower. It's a C-Products, and got it at a gun show. Just wondering if the 10-rounders are as good as it gets, for now. And if it's just as well to work with the Magpul 20s, underloaded.
Edit: Has anyone actually tried a 7.62X39 AR magazine? I saw some (surprise) C-Products 30-rounders at the show, but they were 40% more expensive ($28.00). A little steep; but if I knew they'd work, I'd pay that much.

The 25-round CProducts mags are one of the better ones, along with the 10's. The 17's seem to have the most issues if you load more than 5 rounds.

I've got two C Product 25 round mags and two AR Stoners and only the C Products have given me problems and those seem to be weak springs causing feed issues occasionally. I have had the latter a couple of years, none of the last ones however.

Is there a difference between AR Stoner and the ones sold by AA? I'm looking for some 25 round mags and from the few reviews I've read they say the AR Stoner mags are better then the AA mags but I thought they are the same.

Hopefully a new mag manufacturer will come on board in the future but as of right now there is only one manufacturer no matter what label is put on the floorplate.
Opus Dei: Was the magazine you bought new in the wrapper? Where or through whom did you purchase the mag. from?
I have 12( at least) of the 25 round mags. and none of them bulge or have fitting problems in the magwell.
What lower are you using and is it possible the magwell is out of spec.?
I've heard of this before.
Have you loaded the mag. completely full?
Sometimes I've heard of people having mag. problems, although these weren't 6.5 Grendel mags., because the spring hadn't been compressed yet. So they filled the mag. and let it sit for a couple of days to compress the spring.
It may be worth a try.

The magazine was NIW and Spike's lower; just some dealer at the show.
Looking down as the magazine would be oriented in the receiver (without inserting it), it appears there is perhaps a bit of bow on the right-between the follower and side. About at the point where the dummy half-round starts sloping upwards. It appears the lips slightly angle from the front, widening towards the back. I'll double-check that later; that may be why the rounds don't strip freely, as the rim is maybe held slighly more captive combined with upward pressure from the lower rounds/spring.
Wouldn't hurt to keep a load under pressure for a few days.

The 30 round 7.62x39 mags only work well for 7.62x39 brass before fire forming. The taper is less for Grendel, so the mag curve is too much.
They work great for fire forming, though.
