100 gr Lapua Scenars & H322 - StoneHendge - 12-28-2021
Has anyone tried this particular combo? Lapua seems to in the business of making bullets available for it's customers and I've got a decent stash of H322. Would hope to get around 2700 out of my 22" JP for steel work out to 700 yards and accuracy commensurate with the Lapua price tag. My hunch is that Benchmark has a better suited burnrate, but H322 is the driver here.

my grt estimates maybe up to about 28 gr for the scenar, ~2730 for 22" barrel and still within Saami pressures of 52ksi.
Only an estimate however.
I haven't shot them. I do have some nosler's and eldm's in the 100. Use with xbr and H335.
Hodgdon's mag has an entry for the nosler 100 and H322, up to 29 gr and 2715 (24" barrel), so somebody shoots some 100's with your powder.

My results using H322 with 123 gn Noslers. With a 20 inch barrel and using Hodgdons max load of 26.6 gns I had a muzzle velocity of 2433 FPS. GRT predicted 2511 FPS. The following thread details the real life performance at 850 yards at 7 - 10 MPH winds a 20 shot group measured 10 inches in height and 16 inches horizontal.

I just checked Volume I and II looking at AA, Hodgdons and Vihtavuori data to try to build a cross-reference.
Theres data for 100gr Scenar from AA and VV with different powders.
Theres data for multiple 100gr cup and core bullets with H322, but not the Scenar.
Alexander Arms
100gr Scenar H335 29.4gr max charge 2786fps 24 barrel
VV data
100gr Scenar N133 24.2 - 29.3gr 2802fps at max from 24
100gr Scenar N530 24.7 - 29.3gr 2815fps
Hodgdons
100gr Nosler Ballistic Tip H322 26.0 start 29.0C max 2716fps 49,800psi
Ive noticed that 100gr Ballistic Tips are pretty soft, but that could be just a thinner jacket. Scenars seem to have harder jacket material thats thicker to be more consistent for target work, no concerns about terminal performance for hunting since theyre not meant for that.
I would use the Hodgdons H322 data and work up in .3gr increments over a chrono and keep that 29.0gr compressed load in-mind as probably your top end.

Thanks guys, and yeah I had seen the Hodgdon data as well as the VV - N530 looks intriguing. I wonder if it exists in the real world - I might grab a pound of I ever see it. I thought I was going to be able to grab a box of the 100s locally to test but I was wrong (or I should say Bruno's website was wrong). I've learned (and was reminded today once again with my ARC) that just because there's data, a combo may not necessarily work. The H322 should work just fine with the TNTs I ordered this morning.
