New bullet from hornady.. may be a good choice for those that like a copper alloy mono... 25min. video on their website.
They are offering this bullet loaded in a 6.5 creedmoor, so I bet the expansion threshold is still pretty high compared to traditional SST type bullet.
At about 4:45 they mentioned the traditional threshold is around 2000fps... the hornady guys did not say their bullet expands at any lower velocity.
At 13:00 they talk about expansion/wound channel/penetration/impact velocity (2000fps)
In my 16" gun I'd be hitting that 2000fps around 300 yards I figure... based on similar velocity to the 123gr SST
It sounds like they optimized the aerodynamics some to help BC and carry velocity better. But no mention of lower expansion thresholds.

Saw article on TFB about the CX bullet. Maybe too long too. The hard part to take is they make 6.8 spc 100gn CX ammo.

So it looks like a 120gr GMX with the ELD-Ms tip, with scalloped driving bands vs 90 degree cuts.
Theyve had 120gr GMX for many years. They mention improving the GMX when they designed and tweaked this bullet.

Tech said they all needed 2000fps for expansion and the 120gr. had an over all length of 1.403. He also said Hornady didn't see the need of mono bullets in the velocity range of the Grendel.

The 80 & 90gr .243" CX bullets might work OK in 6mm ARC. Bullets that light should have plenty of velocity out of that cartridge. But I'd have to see 'em first to be certain. Don't know how long the bullet is & how much cartridge space it will take up.
